SCOPE OF SUPPLY
The Company is able to offer customized services
throughout South Sudan which include; transport, supply of fuel in
drums or in bulk, storage, handling, re-certification or testing into
aircraft delivery services, as well as delivery of fuel to customer
nominated destinations. To date Dalbit has supplied WFP in Rumbek alone
with over 6 million litres of bulk JET A1 since August 2005. Despite
a constant myriad of difficulties encountered when operating in South
Sudan (border closure, customs difficulties, road closure occasioned
by bridge collapses/weather conditions, accidents, political interference
etc ) Dalbit has managed to reliably supply its customers throughout
and has never run dry of product at any of its depots.
In view of the obvious safety and
quality issues relating to supply of JET AVIATION fuel, this petroleum
product is subject to a very different regulatory and quality assurance
(QA) regime than other petroleum products. Consequently, all bulk jet
a 1 fuel supplied by the Company to its customers at various locations
throughout South Sudan is independently tested , analyzed and
re-certified through the Society General de Surveillance (SGS ) manned
and operated laboratory located at the Company’s depot in Rumbek
before its is considered for delivery into plane.
The SGS laboratory in Rumbek
is also able to test and re-certify AGO upon request. The quality
of all JET A1 fuel supplied is tested to ensure that it conforms
to Def Stan 91-166 Issue 2 dated 17th Feb 1995 D.1.2 Short Test (C
of C) standards as well as to ensure that there must be a certified
record of the origin of the fuel and the history of everything that
has happened to the fuel (QA) that could in any way affect the quality
of the fuel – especially something that
may not be picked up by the normal tests which may be carried out.
